Hey guys since I'm in a bit of a hobby drought at the moment (Girlfriend's Mum is living with us for 6 weeks!) I thought I would keep the blog ticking over with some non painting topics. So the things I aim to talk about over this period will be:
- Setting up a campaign (The guys and I are just starting one!)
- Plans for my Orcs and Goblins (Mainly Orcs!!!)
- A few Army list ideas
- Regiments of Renown
- Maybe a Battle report or two!
- Hopefully I guilt trip some of the other guys to post up some of their hobby work!
But today I'm going to drop some links and recommendations to podcasts. I am a massive fan of podcasts, I have a long walk to and from work and my job allows me to sit and listen to them while I work away on designs or spreadsheets so I get through a fair whack of them! I would go so far as to say that without listening to them I wouldn't have been so involved in warhammer, twitter or this blog if I hadn't started listening to them. Podcasts are great to listen to while you paint, exercise or mill around with nothing much to do! I am definitely an addict!
Here is a run down of my favourites in no particular order and links to their websites:
Well it wouldn't be a list of warhammer podcasts without the mighty Bad Dice. Ben Curry has been a stalwart of the scene from the beginning and continually puts out quality and quantity with the daily show and bi-monthly main show with Gareth and Mark. Check it out if you are after a balance of hobby, gaming, tips and tournament recaps.

After a few months of a break Heelanhammer returned to form putting out top quality content. Wayne and Dan are both very talented painters, modellers and gamers so if you are looking for a well rounded podcast with lots of varied topics check them out. Personally I preferred the old format where Wayne would wax lyrical for the first half of the episode about his hobby highs and woes but I understand that not everyone liked this!

The Dwellers Below is a relatively new kid on the block but it is a cool kid with a motorbike! Rapidly becoming my favourite cast for all round humour, banter, gaming advice and solid tactics. Some of the topics are probably less than suitable for younger audiences (or some soft adults!) but I love it, exactly my kind of humour and any podcast which references Anchorman in it's logo is a winner in my books. Once you get to know (and secretly love) the menagerie of characters you will be wetting yourself at Gentilly's percentage progress on his cav prince or at Dave's unbridled aggressive enthusiasm for Crunk! #SoExcited

The Pointhammered Podcast has long been one of my favourite listens giving me hours of laughs to and from work (to the bemusement of many passers by!) but once again great humour that fits my taste. Johny and Rodge are both hobby heroes of mine and I have learned a bucket from their sage advice! Also their tactical analysis and Rodge's sneaky combos really make for interesting listening.

A meandering Behemoth of a show which covers everything in the hobby exhaustively and in detail. If you are looking for a podcast that will tell you everything you need to know about the latest in the hobby this is the one for you. Great reviews which go into fluff as well as gaming and plenty of hobby tips for less advanced painters.

Another relatively new podcast by the 6 Dice Monkeys crew, great for tournament rounds ups with game by game analysis, army reviews and more in depth tactical tips. Not everyone's cup of tea but I like tea Earl Grey Tom Hale!

The bad boys of the warhammer scene that talk about all kinds of filth (both gaming and exploits). Funny ride through the darker side of getting pissed and messed up on the warhammer tournament scene, which reminds me of some of the dafter things I got upto while at Uni. All that said they guys do provide some interesting tips for using armies in tournaments and elaborate on some of their army builds and their prep for events, worth a listen!
(18+ Rating but probably shouldn't be listened to by anyone who is offended by anything!)
