Hey guys! so here are the entrants for the second painting challenge! Some amazing work here by the guys! Really brilliant doing these! Only shame was that I think this lost some of the impetus due to the AoS launch, 6 weeks painting time and the Stormcast painting challenge. Next time there will only be 4 weeks from launch to getting your entry in just to keep momentum up :)
Anyway now for the voting, very simple: Choose your favourite (hard part!), tweet your vote to me (@paint_hammer) or as a comment to this blog post. One vote per person please and no self voting ;) Voting will close at 2359 BST on Sunday the 9th of August. Shameless self promotion and bribes are recommended and encouraged!
DISCLAIMER: Please contact me ASAP if anything is wrong, I have missed your entry or to vent #RichHate. Not everyone listened to me and didn’t submit via twitter DM (bad monkeys!!!).

ReplyDeleteGenerally speaking I think people need some simple tips on taking better photos, the light in many of those is awful!
ReplyDeletePaint quality there are a couple which stand out to me - Domus & Steve Herner, but I don't like what's been done with the model in both of them. I don't get the posing on Domus's one, why's he falling down a wall? Steve's is not really about the model any more, it's just a body for a totally different figure.
Grieg's looks like it might be well painted but I'm struggling to tell from the pictures, I'm going to vote for him as a more classic AM paintjob that just works with the standard model.
The intent, which I admit didn't capture as well as I'd hoped, was to portray him perched on the wall and leaping down to an enemy. The inspiration was simply that the model seemed very spider like to me. Cheers for the comments though I do like the honest feedback and use to it to Keep Moving Forward!
DeleteThat no it would have worked fantastically in a bigger diorama but restricting it to the base cylinder he looks less leaping and more falling to me. Paintjob is utterly lovely though.
DeleteThanks! I do appreciate the feedback!

ReplyDeleteGonna vote for Domus, I like him skittering down the wall and turning him around at the waist was brilliant. Overall I like the ton of the painting. Good job bro.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am voting for Steve Herner for wicked creativity and lovely paint.
